Alvin Pugh, age 59, of Nashville Tn, passed away on November 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 4th, 1966, in Benton Harbor Michigan to mother, Charlie Jean Pugh-Bailey and father, Robert Grandberry.
Alvin confessed a hope in christ at an early age and was baptized at the Church of God In Christ by Reverend Willie Bennett in Benton Harbor Michigan where he sung in the choir.
Alvin graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1985, where he was active in sports and other social groups. In 1985 the family relocated to Chicago Illinois. In Chicago Alvin worked at Jewels in Oak Park, Illinois. In the early 1990s Alvin moved to Memphis TN where he worked at Precision Motor and Nike, until his health started to fail. In the late 1990’s Alvin returned to Chicago and decided to become an entrepreneur where he sold clothes, shoes, and bags. That was his passion, he could sell anything. In June of 2025 Alvin moved to Nashville TN where he received care from St. Thomas West Hospital and Alive Hospice where he later passed.
Alvin loved his Cadillac almost as much as he loved making people laugh. A natural comedian with a gift for brightening any room, he was the life of every gathering and a source of joy to all who knew him. Alvin had a remarkable talent for storytelling, he could take the simplest moment and turn it into something bigger, funnier, and unforgettable, always adding just the right touch of playful exaggeration. His humor, warmth, and lively spirit brought people together, and his legacy of laughter and love will continue to be cherished by family and friends.
