Andrew Earl Marks, age 54 transitioned on Friday, July 3, 2026.
Andrew Earl Marks was born January 11, 1972 to Ruth Marks and the late Andrew Marks. He grew up in Nashville and attended Hattie Cotton Elementary, Temple Academy and Litton Middle School. He was a 1990 graduate of Maplewood High School.
He accepted Christ at an early age under the pastorate of the late Bishop Michael Lee Graves and was baptized at the Temple Church where he served as a youth usher and later in the Sound Ministry during his teenage years.
He held several jobs during his lifetime but his later years were spent at Northern Telecom and Nissan until he became physically disabled.
Andrew “Andy” was a dedicated father who loved his children dearly. He loved coaching and attending the multiple sports that his children participated in. His grandchildren brought special joy into his life. He loved when they spent time with their “Paw Paw”.
He was passionate about anything concerning cars. He installed many sound systems for family and friends and participated in sound competitions with the MECCA group until he lost his sight. Even after losing his sight, he was still able to sit in a car an instruct people on how to install a system down to even the wiring. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He had a quiet spirit and was easy going. He was much loved and will never be forgotten. He leaves to cherish his memory – One daughter, T`Andrea Jemison (Jemario), Two sons – Andrew C.Marks (Nathaly) and Andre Marks. The mother of his children – Tamekia Marks, who was his best friend till the very end. Two grandchildren – Da`Mari Prather and Sophia Marks, His mother, Ruth Marks and one brother, Antonio “Tony” Marks. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Andy was diagnosed with many medical conditions in his lifetime, although they were devastating, he never wallowed in self pity. Even after losing his sight, needing dialysis and even with his heart transplant he worked so hard to never be a burden to his family. He did everything he was capable of doing. In the end when doctors told him he would never be able to go home again God stepped in, gave him rest and took him home.
