Barbara Law Middlebrooks, who entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2026. Barbara was born on October 7, 1946, to Leo and Emma B. Mitchell Law in Hartsville, Tennessee (Trousdale County). She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Leo Middlebrooks.
She professed Christ at an early age and was a member of Pilgrim Emmanuel Baptist Church (Tabernacle of Glory Church), serving as a Sunday school teacher.
Barbara was a graduate of the Hartsville school system. Barbara then matriculated at Tennessee State University (TSU), earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree. Barbara was employed by the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools system for more than thirty years, until her retirement.
She will be missed by her family and friends. Remembering her with love are her devoted husband of 55 years, Wendell Middlebrooks; devoted daughter, Wendy Mobley; grandson, Judge Mobley IV; brother-in-law, James Anthony Traylor; cousins, Lois Jean Ray Mitchell (Memphis), Logan Mitchell (Memphis), Dr. Edwina R. Temple (Nashville), Jeffrey E. Law (Nashville), Michelle (Stanley) McKay Manning (Greenville, South Carolina), Sydney (Jacob) Manning Guli (Simpsonville South Carolina), Lloyd Bernard (Vivian) Temple (Nashville); and many more cherished family members and friends.
