Betty Jean Barnett

July 19, 1935 — January 28, 2024

Betty Jean Hardison Barnett….departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 28, 2024 before sunset.

Born on July 19,1935, she was the youngest of two daughters from the union of Thomas M. Hardison and Clora Mason Hardison.

Educated in the public schools of Nashville, TN, she graduated from Pearl High School. Having earned a license in Cosmetology, she and her lifelong friend, Marlene Sisney worked side by side as hair stylists over a 60 year span.

Betty Jean professed her faith in God at an early age, joining Pleasant Green Baptist Church where she remained a faithful servant until her health began to fail.

Jean (affectionately called) met and married the love of her life, Harry Barnett on June 25,1956 and that union lasted until his death in 2021.

Although no children were born to that union the number of children’s lives they touched is immeasurable. She loved her family, friends and her church with all her heart.

Left to cherish her memory is her niece, Andrea Beeman; great nephew, Erique(Valerie) Martin; great niece, Candace Hathaway; great great nieces, Desiree Hathaway, Eriqua Martin; great great nephews, Patrick and Andreas Hathaway; and great great great nephew, Mister Dominique Martin; as Aunt Jean called him. Devoted cousins, Madeline and Beverly Barton and Gene Green. Many other cousins and family too numerous to mention. God children-Bridgit (Timothy) Clark, Amissa Green, Ginton (Erin) Green, Stefan (Jirarat) Forbus, and Chloe Forbus. Devoted life-long friends-Marlene Sisney, Mary Tisdale, Lonna Traynor, and Teri Obey.

The family would like to express our appreciation to each of you for your words of comfort, phone calls, and other acts of kindness throughout this most difficult time.
