Betty Owens, was born November 25, 1953 to Rosie Mae Owens and Robert Lee Sublett in Nashville, TN. She transitioned this life suddenly on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Vanderbilt Hospital.
Betty was educated in the Davidson County Public School Systems, alumni of North High School Class of 1971. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church. She continued to serve the Lord, her community, church family, friends, and family. Betty began her career working for the State of TN. She worked as Jr. Accountant at Meharry Medical College for several years. She completed her employment at McKissack Middle School as a teacher’s aide.
She is survived by her daughters, Tracey (Errol) Isaac and Crystal Covington; grandchildren, Morgan & Madison Isaac, and Jessiah Covington Thompson. Sister, Shirley (Thomas Caruthers), Sister-n-law, Rosemary Owens, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Betty was proceeded in death by her parents Rosie Mae Owens and Robert Lee Sublett, sisters, Pearlie Allen Dunlap, Madeline Vasser, Rosetta Sublett, and brothers, John R. Owens and Jack N. Owens.
