It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Carrie McLaughlin Gentry, on Saturday, December 14, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Howard Cornelius Gentry Sr. She is survived by her devoted children, Carol Gentry (Alfonso) Johnson and Howard C. Gentry Jr., both of Nashville; six grandchildren, Tracey Johnson of Los Angeles, Andre P. (Tiffany) Johnson of Nashville; Cristiana M. Gentry of Nashville, Courtnei G. (Travis) Chenault of Cincinnati, OH, and Taylor D. Gentry and Ryan M. Gentry, both of Nashville, six great-grandchildren Caymon, Christopher, Trey II, Cassidei, Cydnei, and Calei; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Family visitation, Friday, December 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at The Temple Church, 3810 Kings Lane. The Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated Omega Omega Ceremony at 11:15 a.m. followed by The Links, Incorporated Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. Funeral will begin at 12 noon. Rev. Dr. Kelly M. Smith Jr., officiating. Interment, Nashville National Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Howard C. and Carrie M.
