Charlotte Christine (Conde) Vickers passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2020.
She was 82 years old, born in Newport News, VA on March 23, 1938, daughter of Cora Lee (Turner) Conde and William Conde. She was married to George D. Vickers and raised her family in New Kensington, PA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, William Conde Jr.
Survived by her sister, Joyce Borah of Washington D.C., 4 children George (Annette) Vickers Jr, Cheryl (Charles) Vickers-Brown, Karen (Lawrence) Vickers-Clemons and Jennifer (Alexander) Vickers-Bodnar, 8 grandchildren Joel Wicks, Jeanelle (Quinten) Davis, Jessica (Aaron) Wicks-Allen, Adalis Clemons, Jared Clemons, Alexis Bodnar, Dominique Vickers and Danielle Vickers and 2 great-grandchildren.
She attended Hampton University and was a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh. Talented in many areas, she was a teacher’s assistant at Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic School for 8 years, seamstress, and avid gardener. She worked at GMC and the Saturn plant in Tennessee for several years and retired from GMC motors in Pennsylvania. Following retirement, she enjoyed her work as restaurant owner and chef of Cora Lee’s Restaurant in Pennsylvania. She’d always been passionate about children and was a foster parent for 10 years for high risk neonatal infants. She retired to Surprise Arizona.
Thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses and staff at Banner Health Care System in Arizona, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Alive Hospice in Tennessee who provided excellent care. We appreciate our friends and family for their prayers and support. Due to COVID-19 concerns a Memorial service will be held virtually on ZOOM at a later date.
