She was a life member of the Teacher’s Sorority Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Mary loved her family and was always there to encourage them, impressing upon them the value of a good education. She was a supporter of the Harris family reunion, acting as the treasurer for many years. At reunion time everyone would get a call from Mary reminding them of their reunion dues. Sometimes she would solicit sponsors or just pay out of her own pocket to make sure that as many family members as possible could attend the reunion. Mary will truly be missed by her brothers and the entire family.
