Ella Fitzgerald Pruitt Taylor

Ella Fitzgerald Taylor was born on Feb. 5, 1940 to the late Irene Mooney Pruitt and Howard William Pruitt Sr. in Nashville Tennessee.


Pee Wee as she was affectionately called by all that knew her received her education in the Davidson county school system. She professed a hope in Christ and joined St Luke P.B. church at an early age. On July 5, 1965 she united in holy matrimony to James E Taylor and to this union , five children were born, Renita, Rhonda , Heidi, Anthony and Darrell .


Ella was preceded in death by her husband, James Taylor; mother, Irene Pruitt; father, William Pruitt; sisters, Margaret Howse, Loistine Presley, Mildred Davis, Mary Garrett, Patricia Rudolph, Irene Pruitt and Loretta Pruitt; .brothers, William and James Pruitt; grandchildren, Charles Transley, Jr. and DeWayne Taylor.


She leaves to cherish her memory devoted and loving children, Renita(Gary) Pitts, Rhonda Transley, Heidi (William) Taylor, Anthony Taylor and Darrell Taylor, 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, sisters, Dorothy Williams, Estella Davis, Wilhomena (Lee) Wilkes and Barbara (Donnie)Roberts, and brother Charles Pruitt., devoted sister, Wilhomena Wilkes, devoted cousin, Michael Mooney, devoted neice, Ramona Willis, devoted friends, Pamela Green and Charles Myers, and many more, god sent daughters, Dianne Swafford and Jamie Parham, a host of cousins, friends, nieces and nephews.
