Freddie Holt

We are sad to announce the passing of Freddie Jean Holt on March 14,2023 in a nursing home in Bellevue, Tennessee. She was 88 years old.


Born Freddie Jean Fulwood on July 14,1934 to the union of Walter and Edna (Williams) Fulwood. She was the youngest daughter of 5 children: Walter Jr., Nancy, Eddie Lee and Everett Ear,l who have all preceded her in death.


Freddie Jean accepted Christ at a very young age under the pastoral care of the late Elder W.E. Hamilton of Hamilton Tabernacle where she continued to be a member until her passing.


Freddie Jean received her education in the public school system. She attended the great Pearl High School where she graduated in 1952. In her adult life, she attended community college and received an Associate degree in Histology.


Freddie Jean gave her hand in marriage to three husbands: Wardell Henning, Walter Westley Hadley III(Sonny) and James (Jeff) Holt. All which have gone on to Glory.


Freddie loved to play cards and taking buses to the Casinos. She was also a member of many Bridge Clubs. In her youth she was affectionately called “Doozie”.


In addition, to her parents, siblings and husbands, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Robert Fontenot.


Freddie leaves behind three wonderful children who loved and cared for her until her death, Delphine Fontenot, Atlanta, Georgia; Mark Hadley and Crystal Hadley, Nashville, Tennessee.


She also leaves to forever cherish her memories, her daughter-in -law Regina Hadley (Mark), who was loving and dedicated to her during her illness; grandchildren: Kylan Darrell Hadley, Kellye Dionna Hadley,Tepanga Deshay Alexis Fontenot, Mariah Jocelyn Reed-Fontenot and Jocquise Upton; three bonus children that also loved and cherished her, Larry Morris, Lynetta Burns and Cabalamonuwesa Dowell-Ervin (Peaches); four nieces and nephews : Charles Colbert, Ronnie Perkins , Merida Rhodes and Karen Frazier; as well as a host of cousins too many to name. A special blessing to her loving and dedicated friends, Wyvonnia Brooks and Jim Batey.
