Gritta Dasilva

November 19, 1945 — September 10, 2020

Gritta DaSilva, surrounded by her loved ones, went home to the Lord on September 10, 2020 at the age of 75.

Gritta was born November 19, 1945 in Catherine Mahaicony, Guyana to James and Welimina Lindo. After Marrying Esric DaSilva in 1962 they started their family and migrated to The United States on a mission trip in the winter of 1978. Through her hard work, faith and dedication she landed a job at Kings County hospital in Brooklyn,NY where she served and ministered to countless souls until her retirement in 2006. She then moved to Nashville Tennessee where she settled with her loving family. Shortly after her move to Tennessee she joined Mt. Zion Baptist church in August of 2013 where she was a devout member and evangelist to many members in her family and community.

She is survived by her loving children Bertram DaSilva, Charlene DaSilva, Aubrey DaSilva, and Esric DaSilva.
Nieces Gillian Scott, Gillani Scott, Nicole Lindo, Candace Lindo, and Beverly Lindo. Nephews Mervin Robinson, Lennox Robinson, and John Smith.
Grandchildren Shenell Agard, Jessica Parris-Campbell, Bertram Parris, Sherry Patton, Lancelot DaSilva, Ethan DaSilva, Abigail DaSilva, Kareem DaSilva, Tonia DaSilva, Latifa DaSilva, Abede DaSilva,Amber DaSilva, Travis Santana, Tishawna Santana, Domonique DaSilva, DaRhon DaSilva, Hadari DaSilva, Ifeanyi DaSilva, Nihri DaSilva, Ademi Dasilva; Great Grandchildren Ryel Haynes, Zanaiya Cooper, Zamir Campbell, Jayleen Parris, Delilah Parris, Caiden Anku, Mia Anku, Levi Patton, Lancelot DaSilva Jr., Tyler DaSilva, Tyger DaSilva, Zanija Eddins, Carter Hazley, Irie Ryan, Kali DaSilva, Machi Santana, Jordan Santana, Jaiden Santana, Brook’Lynn Holman and a host of extended family and loving friends

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Esric DaSilva; siblings Rickford “Rocko” Roberson, Herman Lindo, Aileen Smith; her two sons Ian DaSilva, Brian DaSilva, and grandchildren Ivyanna Eddins and Akilah DaSilva.

She will be remembered for her great faith, strength and perseverance. Her family will forever honor and cherish her dedication to family, and building a legacy that will truly last a lifetime.

The funeral service will be available for viewing via Facebook on the Lewis-Wright FD Facebook page beginning at 12 Noon.
