Survived by daughter, Gay L. Simpkins; son, Gary L. Simpkins; brothers, Vernon and Cordell Harris; seven grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing Friday, June 27, 2014 from 2 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., at Lewis & Wright Funeral Directors, 2500 Clarksville Pk. "Celebration of Life" Concert to follow at 7 p.m., at Hillcrest SDA Church, 2010 25th Ave. North. Nelson Stokes, Pastor.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established in Gwendolyn Simpkins honor at Hillcrest SDA Church.
