Henry Maurice James, Sr.

Henry James Sr. was born May 14, 1942 to Lillian Smith-James and Thomas James Jr. in Nashville, TN.

He departed this Earthly Life to enter Eternal Life on Monday April 13, 2026.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas James Jr., and Lillian James; his sister, Lillian Brewer; his nieces, Faye Bryant and Oretha McGee.

Henry accepted Christ at an early age at Westwood Baptist Church.

Henry was educated in the Nashville Davidson County public school system he graduated from Pearl High School.

Henry joined the Navy after high school; after retiring from the Navy he worked at UPS for 35 year. He was a Titans season ticket holder until his health declined.

Henry leaves to cherish his memories; his special and devoted friend, Evelyn Duke; daughter, Marsha Martin; sons, Henry (Gwendolyn) James Jr., and Kevin James Sr.; grandchild, T' Andrea (Cory) Pillow Korsica (Trey) McFarland, Henry (Chelsea) James III; Marcelius Russ, Chara James, Kevin (Jasmine) James, Adrianna James, Kai James, Donoven Smith; 24 great grandchildren; aunt, Jean James; uncle, Harold Smith, nephews, Anthony (Tammy) Thomas, Demetrius Brewer and a host of family and friends.
