It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry L. Smith, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, partner, and community pillar, who departed this life on January 15, 2026 at the age of 86.
Born on March 14, 1939, to Lucy Leech Smith and Charles Hazel Smith. Henry was a proud native of Rutherford County, Tennessee, where he received his education in the Rutherford County Schools. Following his schooling, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. His service instilled in him a deep sense of duty, resilience, and honor that guided him throughout his life.
Henry built a distinguished career as a Funeral Director in the Metro Nashville area, where he provided compassionate care and guidance to countless families during their times of need. Known for his kindness, professionalism, and dedication, he was a pillar of strength and a trusted presence in the community, earning the love and respect of all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Michael Smith, Charles (Geneva) Smith, and sister – in-law, Constance Smith.
Henry cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his devoted life partner, Jacquelyn Fisher, and his loving daughters, Staci (Michael) Coleman and Kimberly (Binky) Bell. His legacy lives on through his four granddaughters, Mykyla Coleman, Mya’ Coleman, Mylah Bell, and Karmen Bell, who brought him immense pride and joy.
He is also survived by his brothers, Oliver (Nicole), James “JT”, Melvin (Linda) Smith, Jeffrey (Monique) Smith and sister-in-law, Patricia Smith who shared a lifetime of memories and bonds that stood the test of time. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews’ other relatives and close friends.
Henry will be remembered not only for his devotion to his family and career but also for his profound love for the community he served. His unwavering generosity, wisdom, and quiet strength left an indelible mark on the lives of all he touched.
