Iris Annette Dedeaux-Washington, 54, departed this life on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.


Originally from DeLisle, Mississippi, Iris was born on September 26, 1969, to Manuel and Dianne Dedeaux. She graduated from Pass Christian High School in 1987. Upon graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Army as a 75H, Personnel Administrative Specialist. While stationed at U.S. Army Okinawa, Japan in 1999 she met Douglas F. Washington who would become her devoted and loving husband and best friend November 2022. Anyone who knew Iris knew her passion for animals, especially her dogs Leonard and Rushmore.


A warm and adoring wife, mother, Gi Gi, Yah Yah, daughter, sister, and friend, Iris was predeceased by her mother, Dianne Dedeaux. She leaves behind her husband, Douglas F. Washington, step-mother, Jessica Dedeaux; one son and one daughter, Jode Carney (Julie) and Chevonne Carney (Maurice Yates); step-daughters, Nikea Clayton (Terry Slade), Tiffany Washington (Kirstie), Denise Santos-Wegner (Tobi); eleven grandchildren, Chris, I’yanna, Jaylen, Kaleb, Harlem, Jada, Camron, Cali, Kingston, Kim and Hannah; father, Manuel Dedeaux Jr. (Montanna); sisters, Sabrina Dedeaux (Craig Harvey) and Rochelle Myers (Michael Otis), Fairlen Browning (Harold Browning Jr.), Tinella McNair, Latarsha Harper, Michelle Yancey (Marcus Evans); brothers, Manuel Dedeaux III (Anessa), Joseph Dedeaux, Christopher Jones (Anita), Shawn Hawkins; mother-in-law, Roberta Baugh; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
