In Memory of Joseph Anthony Barton

Joseph Anthony (“Joe” or “Tony”) Barton, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on May 10, 2023 at the age of 73.

He was born August 19, 1949, in DeQueen, Arkansas, and grew up in Little Rock, where he was a member of the Arkansas Cadet Civil Air Patrol.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kay Rowe Barton, and parents, Joe and Nedra Barton. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Melinda Barton of Gardner, Kansas; a granddaughter, Lauren Barton; a number of cousins, special friends at his Crieve Hall church family, and friends at Nashville Christian Towers, where he lived since 2014, and his little dog Missy.

Joe enjoyed music, first country music, and then later rhythm and blues, and oldies. He liked football, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He could tell you the tendencies of many star quarterbacks. His lifelong interest, however, was Jesus. He treasured his relationship with the Lord. His sense of humor and tender heart will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the small chapel at Crieve Hall Church of Christ, 4806 Trousdale Drive, Nashville, TN, 37220. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Crieve Hall Church of Christ Mission Fund.

Please keep the Barton family in your thoughts and prayers.
