The Life of Kathryn Rene Waters

On September 5, 1949, Ms. Kathryn Rene Waters was born to Loraine Hazely Waters Jones and Eddie Lee Waters in Nashville, TN.

Kathryn put her faith in Christ at a young age and was baptized at Kayne Avenue Baptist Church where she became a member.

She also continued her school years and became a graduate of Cameron High, Class of '67.

To know Kathryn is to know her demeanor and ways (smile). Some might say it was off putting but actually was more so protective of those she loved dearly; her children. There was nothing more important to her than providing for her own in a way only a mother could.

In addition to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was known for her passion; which was cooking. Her food was the epitome of soul food, unlike any other. The smell and taste of her food, along with her company, will be severely missed.

Throughout the years, Kathryn dedicated her life as a Home Health Care Nurse. This career required care which made her patients comfortable; her norm. She formed relationships with her patients and their families in a much more relaxed and personal way. Her job was not just a career but a gift given by God to her patients.

Thursday, October 26, 2023, Kathryn transitioned peacefully at home... in route to her new home in glory with God.

She was preceded in death by her parents Loraine Hazely Waters Jones and Eddie Lee Waters, brother Edward Waters, sister Yvonne Decarlo Waters, son Ronald Clay, daughter Sherry Waters and grandson Dante Waters.

She leaves many loved ones to cherish great memories of her, including her devoted children, Eugene Waters (Irene), Amos Gregory and Earl D. Coplen; a host of beautiful sisters, Barbara Brown, Ethel Ware, Ruthie McClure, Della Littleton, Diann McDaniel, Gloria McCoy, Eddie Smith, Christine Murrell, Ella Calloway and Perian Gooch.

This list of loved ones also include her aunt Tinnie Wright, 22 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
