To God be the glory for the Life of Dr. Landson Drummond—“Gentleman, Scholar, and Disciple of Christ.”

Dr. Drummond loved God and served people. The name “Landson” means “servant.” As a young boy, he accepted Christ and began his witness and service at Alameda Christian Church and in the community. He worked side-by-side with his father cleaning, repairing, and maintaining the church, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, teaching Sunday school, and helping senior neighbors.

His freshman year of college was interrupted when he volunteered for service in the Vietnam War. Instead of being drafted, Landson chose to join the U.S. Marine Corps. He served valiantly until he was critically wounded and reported “killed in action.” By God’s grace, he returned home six months later, very much alive.

Landson returned to his studies at Tennessee State University, where over the years, he earned a B.S. and an M.S. in chemistry and taught chemistry at Fisk, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee State universities. Later, he earned a doctorate of education (Ed.D.) in Educational Administration and served as the administrator for university advisement.

Dr. Drummond established the Drummond Products Company, where he invented formulas for healthcare, beauty care, and cleaning products, thus creating jobs for willing workers.

Giving further of his love from God, he married Dr. Leslie Y. Johnson, embracing and loving her and her family as his own.

Throughout his life, Dr. Landson Drummond witnessed for Christ through word and deed—extending a kind word of encouragement and prayer, as well as monetary help. He heard and heeded the voice of God, and daily walked with Jesus.

Preceded in death by parents, Robert Lee Drummond, Sr. and Valdred Lee Drummond, brother, Robert Lee Drummond Jr., and grandson Jordan Turner. Landson is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie Y.
