He is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Cassandra Benford-Parks; children, La Sona, Melvin II, and Bianca (Darryl Haley) Benford; grandchildren, Shania Claybrooks, Cordell Burn, and Denver Haley; brother, Wiley Parks; aunt, Dezila Lee Parks of Grand Junction, TN; sister-in law, Frances M. Brown of Chattanooga, TN; two nieces, one nephew; a host of cousins; a special devoted cousin, Lonnie (Ada) Terry; the friends of TDOC; and devoted friend and co-worker, Kimberly Bryant
