LEWIS, Marguerite Anita Of Nashville, entered into eternal rest on November 4, 2011, at the age of 64 from complications of multiple sclerosis. A native of Oklahoma City, OK, Marguerite was preceded in death by her father, Clarence E. Bell, Sr. She retired in the fall of 2009 after serving 38 years as an administrator with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Retardation, and later with the State Department of Health. Marguerite, who received her undergraduate degree from Fisk University and her Master's degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, is survived by her husband, Dwight; a son, Dana; daughter-in-law, Autumn (Nikki); a grandson, Elijah; a granddaughter, Gabrielle, all of Douglasville, GA; mother, Sarah Jane Bell, San Antonio, TX; mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Lewis, Knoxville; a brother, Clarence Eugene (Shirley) Bell, Jr., San Antonio, TX; devoted caregiver, Juanita Brown; other relatives and friends. A Memorial service for Marguerite will be held beginning at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, 2015 West End Ave., with the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Omega Omega Service. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. At Marguerite's request, her remains were cremated. Memorial contributions should be made in Marguerite A.
