Mary Ann Johnson was born on December 25, 1956, to the late Harry Crook and Katherine Bush-Brown in Nashville, Tennessee. She transitioned from this earthly to eternal life on Tuesday March 5, 2024 at Legacy Village of Hendersonville Memory Care in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Mary Ann was a widower to the late Raymond Johnson. She was blessed with three daughters. 

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her significant other Keith Robertson, mother, Katherine Bush-Brown, and brother, James Robert Bush. 

Mary Ann gave her life to Christ at a very young age at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend Morgan Babb. She also attended New Born Missionary Baptist Church for a short period before rededicating her life to Christ at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 1996 under the leadership of Bishop Joseph W. Walker III. She served on the usher board then later joined the church choir. She was an active member in the church community.

 Mary Ann was educated in the Metro Nashville Public School System including North High School. Later in life she decided to further her education and attended DeVry University getting her Bachelors of Science Technical Management in 2013. She was employed at Corroon & Black Insurance Company and later at Cigna Healthcare until she retired in 2018 to help with the care of her mother Katherine Brown and significant other Keith Robertson. In 2019 she decided to get a part-time job at our neighborhood Kroger in the bakery/deli department. She also dedicated her time volunteering at Ms. Carmen’s Precious Moments alongside her sisters Carmen and Cassandra. 

Mary Ann loved sports, shopping, traveling with her best friends, skating and dancing. Mary Ann favorite band was Frankie Beverly and Maze. She was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She will leave an impressionable memory with everyone she encountered. 

Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Tara (Obayana), Tamara, and Tiffany Johnson; sisters, Carmen, Cassandra, and Jenease; grandchildren, Tarecca, Hennessie, Vernell, John (Tanecia), and Marques; great-grandchildren Tre’varius, Kyng, Cypher, and Spirit; devoted friends Cynthia Cain and Pamela Scott; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
