Mary M. Newcomb September 1, 1935 - January 10, 2024. Mary M. Newcomb, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on September 1, 1935, in Ripley, Tennessee, to Nathaniel Livingston and Lilian Holloway Livingston. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Lee Newcomb, and their children Joyce Ann, Chadwick, Andrew Lee, John Alvin, and Karen Newcomb. Although their loss weighed heavily on her heart, Mary found strength in the memories they created together and the love they shared. Mary is survived by her sons, Ronald Newcomb and Darrell Newcomb, as well as her daughters, Deborah Newcomb Barksdale and Chandra Rena Newcomb. She leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life. Throughout her working life, Mary was a dedicated employee. She held a full time position as a machine operator at Saint Regis Envelope Company until her well-deserved retirement. Mary's work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in everything she did. Beyond her professional life, Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a fabulous sense of style and fashion, always ensuring she was impeccably dressed. Mary was known for her impeccable taste and carried herself with elegance and grace. In her spare time, Mary loved to cook and bake. She would spend hours in the kitchen, creating delicious meals and treats for her loved ones. However, the true essence of Mary's life revolved around her family and friends. She cherished every moment spent with them, and her love and warmth were felt by all. Mary M. Newcomb will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will continue to inspire future generations.
