Survived by devoted daughter, Pamela (Kevin) Prymer; devoted sister, Peggy Parrish (Miami, Florida) devoted sister; Belinda McLin; nephews, Thomas (Mae)McLin, Patrick Parrish (Miami Florida), Michael (Rebecca) Parrish (Miami, Florida), and Ross (Lauren) Kennedy III, and other family and friends.
Mildred was a graduate of Pearl high school in 1967 and Draughon’s Business college in 1968. She completed two years of college at Tennessee State University in 1969. From her first marriage she had two children Herbert Larry Phillips Jr.(deceased) and Pamela Prymer. She remarried in 1999 to Overton Merrit Jr. (deceased) and they traveled the world together visiting twenty-three countries. She was employed in various administrative positions with St Thomas Hospital and Baptist hospital from 1969-1972. She retired from M. Lee Smith Publishers in Brentwood, TN after 18 long years. Besides loving to travel she loved Luther Vandross music, football, cooking, eating fried catfish and fried chicken, and watching Wheel of Fortune.
