Paul Steven aka “Steve” Joseph was surrounded by family when he was called home to be with His Father on April 7, 2024, after a period of illness. Steve was born on March 12, 1941, to the late Avie and Wash Joseph in Birmingham, AL. He graduated from Oakwood Academy in Huntsville, AL and attended Oakwood College majoring in Theology with a desire to become a minister. After Oakwood College, Steve moved to Chicago to be with his parents. He worked in multiple occupations until he found his true calling as a successful auto salesman and ordained minister. Steve reunites with his four grandparents, parents (Wash and Avie); brother (Jimmy); two children (Kenna and Gina) and other relatives where they can all join hands and walk around heaven.  Steve was a God spirited man who shared his love and generosity with others. Steve never met a stranger and could talk to anybody. He always went out of his way to help anyone in need. His impact on the lives of others will be felt for years to come. He was an inspiration to others and was loved and admired by those who knew him. He loved entertaining and singing. Steve was the consummate salesman. He grew a successful business with charisma and integrity. Everyone knew Steve as genuine, truthful and authentic. He brought life to every room he entered. From his infectious smile to his engaging conversations, Steve endeared himself to many. Steve leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife Joyce Williams Fowler; one brother Charles (Vivian) Joseph; children Deadra Ashford-Montgomery, Kimberly Owen, Shawn Thornton, Paul Steven (Marcia) Joseph II and Douglas Antoine (Kathy) Fowler; grandchildren: Noel (Mychal) Fakir, D’Toria Fowler, Sasha King, Sanaa Thornton, Taylor Joi, Paul (PJ) III; Two great-grandchildren Sania and Kai Fakir; sister/cousin Brenda Brown, four sisters-in-law and one brother in-law and a host of relatives and friends.
