Polly Buchanan

Polly Swanson-Buchanan was born on November 25, 1925, to the late Harry and Maria Swanson. She peacefully departed this life on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Polly accepted Christ at an early age and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her vibrant spirit, warm personality, and the very best hugs freely given and deeply felt by all who knew her.

Polly was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Maria Swanson; her beloved husband, William Buchanan; and her brother, Harry Swanson Jr. (Rinetta).

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, William Buchanan Jr.; her grandchildren, Shaquilla, Kendra, Jakkia, Takkia, Titus, Ronkeiviah, and Maria; and her great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Harlei, Milaysia, Cortez Jr., Jayliyah, Skylar, Willow, Kainan, Kahli, Khari, and Tylan.

She is also survived by her siblings, Rose Sherrell, Betty (George) White, Mary Long, Michelle (Walter) Clark, and Ronnie Swanson; her in-laws, Raven (James) White, Rhonda (James) Johnson, Timothy (Elaine) Buchanan, and Jessie Buchanan Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Polly also leaves behind devoted friends who meant so much to her, including Robert (Tammy) Noel, Ann Spicer, Mary Ann, and Moses.

Polly’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
