Dr. Ramon S. Harris
Nashville, TN
Ramon Stanton Harris, MD passed away peacefully Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. Thomas Midtown after a lengthy illness. He was 89 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ruthie Lois Chatmon. He was Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center until his retirement in 1989. An avid bridge player, he was a long-standing member of the Nashville Duplicate Bridge Club, Hadley Park Duplicate Bridge Club and the Vanderbilt Bridge Club.
He is survived by his three children, Dr. Richard (Ellen) Harris, II, Dr. Sandra (Michael) Harris-Corrado & Maj (ret) Frances Hodges; eight grandchildren; nine great-grand children; several cousins and friends.
Services to be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:00am at Howard Congregational United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Howard Congregational Church, 2802 Buchanan St., Nashville, TN 37208.
