On May 18, 2026, Regina Faye Fuller Hawkins transitioned from this earthly existence back to the Eternal Essence. She passed peacefully from preexistences and was pronounced by physicians at 8:16 a.m. central. She is survived by Pompey LeCardo Hawkins (only Child), whom she shared with Pompeii LeCardo Hawkins (former Husband). She is also survived by Demica Darná Hawkins (Daughter-in-Law) and Peyson Luke Hawkins (only Grandchild). To cherish her memory and legacy, she also leaves John Frank Fuller (oldest Brother) and D.B. Fuller, II (youngest Brother). She was predeceased by D.B. Fuller, Sr. (Father), Beatrice Elizabeth Shaw Fuller (Mother), and Marion Cecil Fuller (middle Brother). Additionally, she leaves Arnett H. Bodenhamer (bonus Son) and Katie Bodenhamer (bonus Daughter-in-Law). Lastly, she largely and lovingly leaves numerous Nephews and Nieces, as well as faithful Family and Friends.
Faye (02/03/49 – 05/18/26), as she was commonly called, was born to D.B. Sr. and Beatrice in Brownsville, TN. She became the second-eldest and, ultimately, only Daughter of the four Fuller Children. In the 1950’s, along with John and Marion, the Fuller Family all relocated to Nashville, TN. Once settled in historically Black North Nashville, she attended the public school system’s Ford Greene Elementary School, Washington Junior High School, and Pearl High School. She was famous for being smart, spirited, and stunning. While at Pearl High, she was crowned homecoming Queen. With a dedication to education, she graduated from Pearl one year early in 1966. She eventually matriculated to and graduated from Tennessee State University (TSU) with both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Speech Pathology in 1969 and 1976, respectively. While at TSU, she joined the AX Chapter of ΔΣΘ Sorority, Inc. in 1967—which she maintained membership with for nearly 60 years. Between degrees at TSU, she met and married Pompeii, and afterward birthed their baby boy, Pompey.
Regina had a very impressive career throughout her life. She worked at Fisk University for years as the Dean of Women. She worked in the Metro Nashville Public Schools for years as a licensed Speech Pathologist. She also worked at Forrest Hills Realty for years as a licensed Real Estate Agent. She also worked in many other areas for any number years, such as property management, entrepreneurialism, and more.
“Regina,” according to Etymology Online, is: a feminine proper name, from Latin, literally “ queen; ” related to rex (genitive regis) “king” (from PIE root *reg-“move in a straight line,” with derivatives meaning “to direct in a straight line,” thus “to lead, rule”). Cognate with Sanskrit rajni ”queen, Welsh rhyain “maiden, virgin….”
On May 30, 2026, we celebrate her life and legacy with our love. Faye Fuller finally transitioned eight days following Mother’s Day. “8” being infinitely befitting of our "Queen Mother".
