Life Reflections

Jemice Shonta Dandridge Hathaway was born August 31, 1982 to Raymond Dandridge and Ann Sharfner-Clark. She departed this life May 26, 2021. She attended Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools and graduated with honors from Glencliff High School in 2000. At the age of six she was saved and baptized at Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Reverend George T. Brooks, Sr. She sang in the youth choir and served with the Candy Stripers. Jemice is preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Mary Dandridge, William and Lillian Sharfner, Sarah and Roy Taylor; great grandmother Katherine Dandridge, aunt, Kathy Dandridge.

Jemice had this burning desire to serve her country; she joined the United States Air Force on June 4, 2002 and was honorably discharged. She returned to the military joining the United States Army National Guard, serving with the 230th Signal Company on October 4, 2010 retiring honorably and discharged on August 17, 2014. She received the Afghanistan Campaign with Campaign Star, the Meritorious Service Award Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, United States Air Force Training Ribbon, and NATO Metal. After leaving the military, Jemice returned to college graduating from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration and Health Management in 2016.

Jemice leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted husband Donnell Hathaway; a lovely and devoted daughter, Jemiya Annae Dandridge; father, Raymond Dandridge; mother, Ann (Bennie) Sharfner-Clark; devoted sister, Lethia Tenae (Daniel Dowell) Sharfner; step children, Donnell Hathaway, Jr., Shatoya Smith, and Chanesia Sweat; four grandchildren; father-in-law, Bobbye Sherrell; mother-in-law, Nancy Hathaway; brother-in-laws, Danny (Tamekia) Ray, Trodell (Naomi) Sherrell, Jared (Marina) Sherrell, Jason (Andrea) Sherrell; sister-in-law, Marion Sherrell; aunts, Paula Dandridge, Sable (Joe) Pearsall, Neki Sharfner, Mary (Fred) Moore, Anita (Robert Lee) Bailey, Delores Pozo, Kuwanda (Donnie) Hathaway, Teresa Hathaway, Tina (Dale) Malone, Alice Hathaway, and Alberta Hambright; uncles, William and Larry Sharfner, Jerome (Gwendolyn) Wright, Charles (Martine) Sherrell, Connell (Lisa) Sherrell, Louis (Jima) Gilbert, David Gilbert, Quinton Sherrell, Pastor McKinnley (Jackie) Hathaway, Leon (Patricia) Hathaway, and Christopher Hathaway; niece, Rae’Gan Sharfner; nephews, JeJuan Hamer, Jr., GereMiah Pierce; godmother Martha Bryant; god-grandmother Esther Sharpe-Church; devoted cousins, Joe and Alexandra Davis; cousins; and other devoted family and friends.
