With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Seth Porter, who peacefully departed this life on July 10, 2026 at the age of 94.
Mr. Seth “bud” Porter was born May 21,1932 in Nashville, Tennessee to the proud parents of the late Mr. John Henry and Mrs. Rosie Porter.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956. Seth was married to the late Inez Porter who preceded him in death, and from their marriage two children were born, one in whom preceded him in death, Patricia Lynn Porter. He also was preceded in death by four siblings; David Lee Porter, Rosie Lee Taylor, Julia Ann Reese, and Johnnie Edmondson; One grandchild Broderick Porter-Baugh
Seth leaves to Cherish his passing by one brother William (Billy) Porter; one daughter Debra Porter; three grand children Lorekha Porter, Latasha Porter, and Patrice Porter. He also leaves behind thirteen great grandchildren; Catona Porter-Webb,(Marvin Webb) Samia Smith, Simone Smith, Corin, Ametia, DeAndre, Raven, DeCory, Monqueris, Keilan, Jayden,Aiyana Porter and ten grear-great grand children; Chrislynn Hall, Mackenzie Webb, Corin Jr., Chyna,Carmello, DeAndre Jr, Corionna,Kyrie,Nauri,and Cormoni Porter
Seth was a devoted father, loving grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather whose family was the center of his world. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
A man of simple pleasures, Seth had a deep love for fishing and camping. He found peace and happiness in the outdoors. He also had a fondness for old charter and valued the importance of hard work and providing for those he loved.
In his free time, he proudly served as a member of the Elks Club, where he built many lasting friendships and enjoyed giving back to his community.
Seth was also known for his incredible cooking skills. He loved gathering family and friends around the grill, preparing delicious barbecue meals with love and laughter. His front yard cookouts became cherished traditions, bringing everyone together and creating countless memories.
Though he may no longer walk beside us, his legacy of love, kindness, strength, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew him.
