Age 82. Transitioned peacefully on January 24, 2014.
Survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Mrs. Delois Townsend; sons, Settle (Sandra) Townsend, Jr. and Eric Townsend; grandson, Sean Eric Townsend; adopted granddaughters, Ashley and Meghane Gainey; a host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing today from 12 Noon - 6 p.m., at Lewis & Wright Funeral Home, 2500 Clarksville Hwy.
Homegoing service Saturday, February 1, 2014 at First Baptist Capitol Hill, 325 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. Family visitation 11-11:30 a.m., with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Omega Service at 11:30 a.m., funeral service at 12 Noon. Rev. Dr. Kelly Miller Smith, Jr., officiating. Interment Monday, February 3, 2014 at Middle Tennessee Veterans.
