Sylvainus Cole, Iii

January 16, 1988 — April 3, 2023

Sylvainus Cole, III (Trey) arrived on Saturday, January 16, 1988, with those cute dimples on his cheeks for all to see. As Trey anxiously, excited and patiently waited for his return to his earthly home to be with his family and friends in Nashville, TN, our Father God instead saw it fit to put Trey on his heavenly journey to be with HIM.

Trey, 35 years old, was born to the late Sylvainus Cole, Jr. and Christine Denise Cole Williams. Trey was the youngest of Christine’s three boys.

Trey was preceded in death by his stepfather who raised him, the late James Edward Williams. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, three uncles and one aunt.

Trey was saved and baptized at Cleveland Street Baptist Church when he was a young boy.

Trey was educated in the Nashville public schools. From a very young age, Trey was a great athlete in basketball and football. He participated in recreational sports, and he was an Antioch High School standout. In his senior year, Trey signed a letter of intent to play football at Oklahoma State.

Trey was loved by so many because of his fun-loving and gentle mannerisms.

Trey leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Sylvainus Cole IV, mother, Christine Williams; brothers Tommy (Joy Mitchell) Smith Jr. and Antonio Smith, sister, Marquitta Williams, God sister, Dr. Kenitra (Chris) Henderson-Fitts, adopted siblings/cousins, Thomas Miles and Leanna Harding, uncle, Ricky (Tracy) Cole, aunt, Beverly (Anthony) Lillard, aunt Joyce (Andrew) Talley, aunt, Shirley (Tracy) Gibson, aunt Elteresa Harding, nephews Tommy Smith III and Darius Williams, niece, Nia (John Karponai) Smith, great-niece, Zhavia Karponai, special cousin, Steven Lillard, girlfriend, Tiffany Jackson, special friends Victoria Norris (Cole’s mother), Jasmine Horton, Ricky Lowe, Hope Lowe, George Dunlap, Tremayne Townsend, Preston Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.

Complete arrangements will be annouced soon. Please keep the Cole and Williams families in your thoughts and prayers.
