Cherishing his memories and rejoicing in his life and works: wife, Ms. Lorraine Roland; sons, Sylvester R. Roland III, Michael (Angela) E. Roland; daughters, Jean M. (John) Phillips, Deborah A. Roland; sister, Louise (Rufus) Douglas; brother, James (Josephine) Roland; stepsons, W.K. Brown (Gwendolyn), James W. Brown (Calister); grandchildren, Reginia (Derek) Fleming, Yolanda Roland, Kimberly Batson, Michael I. Roland, Sedale Roland, Shenelle Roland; great-grandchildren, Asheleigh King, Derek Aiden Fleming, Yasmine Roland; other nieces; nephews; and numerous cousins; the late Deacon Nathaniel Stephenson and family; church friends; many friends and caring neighbors.
Public viewing Monday, March 24, 2014 from 2 p.m.- 6 p.m., at Lewis & Wright, 2500 Clarksville Pk. Family visitation Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 11 a.m. - 12 Noon, with funeral to follow at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 2416 Clifton Rd., Rev. Theodore Bryson officiating. Interment Nashville National Cemetery.
