Thomas Eugene Miles

Thomas Eugene Miles, a vibrant and beloved father, son, brother, nephew, and friend, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the age of 26. Born in Nashville, TN, to Candice Omega Harding and Calvin Miles, Thomas was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Jim Williams, grandmother, Sandra Harding, mother, Candice Omega Harding, and adoptive brothers, Sylvanius Cole III and Antonio Smith. Thomas was a light in the lives of everyone who knew him. At age 10, Thomas, along with his sister, LeAnna Harding, was adopted by his great aunt and uncle, Christine and Jim Williams. At a young age, Thomas was baptized at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church alongside his adoptive father, Jim Williams.

Education and Character

Thomas was employed at Nissan as a tow motor driver. He was a proud recipient of a Nashville high school diploma and was known for his huge smile and quiet strength. He moved through the world with a sense of purpose and a style that was uniquely his own. Thomas participated in the 100 Black Men of Middle TN Inc.-Developing Future Leaders-100 Kings, Boys and Girls Club-Mid TN, and Back Field in Motion.

Family and Relationships

Thomas was a young man who deeply loved and protected his two baby sisters, LeAnna Harding and D’Asia Darvin. He was always willing to attend family gatherings to share in camaraderie and good food. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be dimmed.

Thomas is survived by his adoptive mother, who is also his great-aunt, Christine Williams; biological father, Calvin Miles; childrens mother, Kamia Stephney Hanger; children, Kylo Omega Miles, and Kamiya Stephney Hanger; siblings, Marquitta Williams, Tommy Smith Jr., LeAnna Harding, D’Asia Darvin, Alexis Calbert, Mercedes Jennings, Xaria Miles, Bre'Dasia Cox, and Cydney Miles; aunt, La’Trese Thompson (Tony McLemore); God parents, Dr. Kanits (Chris) Henderson Fitts; cousins, Da’Shon McLemore, De’Leah McLemore, and Da’Mari Thompson; great aunts, Joyce Talley (Andrew) and Shirley Gibson (Tracy), uncle, Benjamin Miles; beloved family friend, Jasmine Horton; devoted friends, Fares Ali, and Greg Reed and a host of immediate and extended family as well as lifelong friends who will carry his memory forward.
