Vincent Baker

July 23, 1963 — December 4, 2020

Mr. Vincent Leon Baker, son of the late Johnnie Baker-Sanders and Leon Brown, was born July 23, 1963, in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. He departed this life on December 4, 2020. He attended Davidson County public schools and Tennessee Technological Center in Nashville. Vincent and Deborah recently opened Deb’s Fish and More, a food truck business that has developed an excellent reputation for great tasting whiting, catfish, and fried ribs.

Vincent was very devoted to family and loved having family dinners for holidays and special events such as graduations. He enjoyed going to the racetrack, riding motor cycles, and especially fishing trips with his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted fiancé, Ms. Deborah Sparkman; three loving children, Darrell Covington, Leon (Brittany) Covington, and Velecia Covington; nine wonderful grandchildren who were a source of pride and joy in his life, Da’Juan, Dallas, Ke’Darrius, Zi’Lynn, Bianca, Amia, Jamaul, Jaylen, and Kira; three siblings, Larry (Albertine) Baker, Angela (Billy) Brown, Orange Park, FL, and Michael (Cheryl Presley) Baker, Hudson, MA; uncles, Elder Walter (Karion) Glenn, Sr., Murfreesboro, TN, Howard Leo Glenn, Howell Leon Glenn, and William Larry Glenn; aunts, Katherine Glenn, Nolensville, TN, Gladys (Robert, Sr.) Glenn Mason, Antioch, TN, Linda (James) Glenn Rose, Smyrna, TN, Brenda Glenn, Lebanon, TN, and Millicent Glenn; nieces, Gwendolyn Baker, San Diego, CA, Mercede Baker, Erica Jones, Tamika Baker, Starlisha Baker, and Honey Barnes; nephews, Michael Baker Jr, Tony Jones, Joshua Baker; cousins, Delores Smith and family, Palo Alto, CA; as well as many relatives and friends who will truly miss him.
