Virginia Ann Watkins

Virginia Ann Watkins was born September 22, 1952, in Nashville, TN. She departed this life on February 21, 2023. She is preceded in death by her father, Curtis V. Watkins, Sr., and her mother, Luvenia Watkins.

Virginia was a graduate of Litton High School. She worked for the State of Tennessee full time and for Vanderbilt University part time for over forty years in various capacities until she retired from both.

Virginia lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; roller skating was her favorite past time, along with shopping, watching cowboy movies and traveling. She joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the late Revend Levi A. Britt and was a faithful member of Choir #2. Virginia also loved family gatherings and looked forward to the Jackson Family’s Annual Family reunions.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Jasmine Taylor, granddaughter, Ashley Cathey, siblings, Mary Frierson, Curtis (Carolyn) Vernon Watkins, Jr., Teresa Carlew, Mablene (Randall) Ganaway, Dorothy Watkins, Goldie Watkins Jackson, her special friend, Victor Snowden, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends-whom she adored to the fullest.
