LIFE REFLECTIONS

William “Billy” Arnold Jr. was born January 28, 1957 in Detroit Michigan to William Arnold Sr. and June Gulley. Billy was the oldest of seven siblings. Billy grew up in Southwest Detroit MI with Grandmother Annie Arnold where he attended Southwestern High School and graduated in 1975.

He attended University of Michigan, and later attained his associate degree from Wayne County Community College. His mother, grandmother, sister Diane Arnold, Aunt Sylvia Brown and Gerald Lyons all proceeded him in death.

Billy was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness from infancy and baptized in 1994. He was a dedicated Ministerial Servant who enjoyed field service including bulk mailing, telephone witnessing, letter writing and helping others learn about Jehovah’s promises. He will be remembered for his faithfulness to Jehovah and the generosity that he showed to his family and friends.

Billy was united in marriage on July 21, 1975 to his high school sweetheart Candis M. Arnold and they were happily married for 46 years until his death. To this union four children were born. He also gained two special parents because he did not call them in-laws - William and Hattie Lowery who preceded him in death.

Billy worked for General Motors for over 31 years until he retired. After retirement, he worked for Enterprise Rental Car for 10 years transporting cars.
William “Billy” Arnold Jr. fell asleep in death on Friday December 18th, 2020 at the age of 63 in Nashville TN at Saint Thomas Hospital after complications from COVID and kidney disease. His battle with serious medical issues throughout the years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, he came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

His family and friends knew him as a strong and humble man, a devoted father, a dependable and hardworking husband, a strong provider and most of all a spiritual head who loved Jehovah.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory his loving devoted wife of 46 years Candis M. Arnold. Children; Anthony (Eureka) Arnold, Gregory (Karen) Arnold, Carl Arnold, and Randy Arnold; Father William. (LayChun Sin ”MeMe”) Arnold Sr; 6 grandsons and 9 granddaughters; Siblings Shelia Arnold, Steven(Sandy) Arnold, Cheryl (Cliff) Evens, Jon Paul (Nickai) Gulley, Marcus Arnold; Aunts Phyliss (Iley) Bradley, Garrison (Brenda) Lyons, Karen Garrett, Uncles Carl (Carol) Lyons, Timothy Thomas; Aunts Katherine Elloutt, Lula (Luther) Cowden, Christeen Thomas, Debra Lyons. Bonus brothers and sisters through marriage: Valveta (Paris) Reese, Suzette (Keith)Johnson, William (Ebani)Lowery, and Derrick Lowery.

A special daughter Tiffany (Cedric) Brantley and a host of nieces and nephews.
